Katharine B Cushing Managing Principal

 

Katharine (Kitty) B. Cushing,  Founder and Managing Principal of 7Sisters LLC, an international advisory firm focused on matching opportunities between US middle-market companies and strategic global partners. 7Sisters, llc was established in 2011 to assist companies in global business development and to access strategic capital. 

Prior to Founding 7Sisters in 2011, Katharine was consultant to various companies in medical, technology and financial services sectors as well as to several family offices. She was a Senior Vice President at Neuberger Berman from 2004-2009 in Wealth Management, and prior to that a Founding Partner of Wainwright Investment Counsel and Managing Director of H.C. Wainwright & Co, in Boston, Massachusetts. Katharine has led numerous investment forums, special briefings as well as global leadership retreats throughout her career, most notably, the US-Arab Leadership Retreat held at the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy from 2009-2014.

Katharine currently serves on the Board of Directors of AMIDEAST, the Board of PFM (Providence Facilities Management, affiliate to the Providence Performing Arts Center), the Advisory Board of the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy and the International Advisory Board for the Anthony Quinn Foundation. Katharine served as a member of the ABANA (Arab Bankers of North America) Board of Directors from 2007-2014.  She received an award for her dedicated service and leadership after serving on the ABANA board for two three year terms. She was formerly a member of the Board of Directors for the George Washington Institute for Religious Freedom and is a former member of the Board of Trustees for Roger Williams University.

 

Tom Bonfield, Partner

Tom Bonfield

Tom has more than 25 years of global corporate client development and investment experience.  He was most recently an executive at Enverra Capital, LLC, www.enverra.com a boutique investment bank founded by Gen. Wesley Clark.  Tom has fostered executive client relationships in both the in the investment community- private equity, hedge fund, venture fund, family offices and in the business world. He has held a variety of senior business development, strategy, and marketing positions with IBM, Viacom, and Red Hat. And, Tom was instrumental in developing global strategic partnerships, and licensing distribution deals with corporations such as AT&T, Oracle, Microsoft, Yahoo, IBM, and Dell. He also participated in several public offerings and private company sales. This unique combination of experience allows him thoroughly evaluate opportunities from both an operating and from an investor’s perspective.   

Tom also sits on the Board of Bonfield Brothers, Inc., a 98-year old private gas & oil distribution business, a former board member of The Healing Place of Wake Co., is a member of the Society of Cincinnati- Virginia Chapter.  He received his M.B.A. with a double concentration in Finance and in International Business from the University of Kentucky and a B.A. in Economics and in Mathematics from Hampden-Sydney College where he was a member of both the golf and the skeet teams.

 

Stuart Sundlun, Senior Advisor

 

Stuart Sundlun, Senior Advisor to 7Sisters, LLC is Vice Chairman of the BMB Group LLC, a firm focused on global private equity opportunities which he helped organize in 2006. Additionally, since 2012, he has served as CEO of Adaptive Technology International LLC which develops business opportunities worldwide for selective disruptive technologies in the clean energy sector. In 2012, Stuart was a founding member of Broadway Resources LLC, a private company currently drilling for oil in the Permian Basin in Texas, which was sold in 2014. Previously, he structured the investment in and served as a board member of South Oil Corporation, an oil exploration company focused in the Astrakhan region in Russia from 2005 until its sale in 2011. From 2000 to 2012, Stuart was a Senior Advisor to Triago SA, a Paris-based placement agent for private equity funds and secondary fund limited partnership interests.

From 2007 to 2012, he was a member of the Advisory Board of Charitybuzz.com, a leading provider of online auction services for not-for-profits and corporations seeking to expand their social responsibility activities. Since 2006, he has served on the Board of Directors of Whitewall Inc, a leading magazine on contemporary art. Stuart was a co-founder and served on the Board and Investment Committee of the Dignity Fund L.P. which made loans to microfinance organizations worldwide from 2006 to 2011.Previously, Stuart was a Managing Director of Global Emerging Markets from 1994 to 2006, a firm which invested in emerging public and private companies worldwide and an investment banker in corporate finance at Lehman Brothers. He began his finance career at Chase Manhattan Bank where he was the Mexican Liaison Officer at Chase Manhattan Bank after completing the Credit Training Program. Since 2011,

Stuart has been a member of the Executive Committee of The Common Good, a New York based not-for-profit organization which organizes discussions of leading political issues, both domestic and international with significant policy and opinion makers. In 2013, he joined the board member and became treasurer of The Art Production Fund, a not-for-profit aimed at bringing the works of leading artists to the public. Stuart holds an MBA in finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a BA, cum laude, in government from Harvard University. After Harvard, He was awarded a Rotary Club Fellowship and spent one year at La Pontifica Catolica in Lima, Peru. During this period, he also served as a Special Assistant to the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) at the Sixth and Seventh General Assemblies of the OAS.
