Katharine (Kitty) B. Cushing, Managing Principal
Katharine (Kitty) B. Cushing, is Founder and Managing Principal of 7Sisters LLC, an international advisory firm focused on matching opportunities between US middle-market companies and strategic global partners. 7Sisters was established in 2011 to assist companies in global business development and to access strategic capital. Katharine is also a Managing Director at The New England Company, a division of Arthur W. Wood, a securities firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. Katharine is Founder of Newport Global Summit which has been held at the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy in Newport, Rhode Island since 2009. The Summit brings together family business enterprises, and leaders in the public and private sectors from around the world to share knowledge and build bridges for cooperation and economic prosperity.
Katharine began her securities career in 1983, at H.C. Wainwright & Co., where she was fourth generation member of the Clark family, the majority owners and controlling partners for over 100 years. She developed a business advising family offices and institutional investors on alternative investments and portfolio strategy. Katharine became a Managing Director of H.C. Wainwright in 1997. She was one of the founding members of Wainwright Investment Counsel, LLC in 1999, an independent investment consulting firm, which grew to approximately $4billion in assets at the time of her departure in 2004.
Katharine currently serves on the Board of Directors of AMIDEAST, the Board of PFM (Providence Facilities Management, affiliate to the Providence Performing Arts Center), the Advisory Board of the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy and the International Advisory Board for the Anthony Quinn Foundation. Katharine served as a member of the ABANA (Arab Bankers of North America) Board of Directors from 2007-2014. She received an award for her dedicated service and leadership after serving on the ABANA board for two three year terms. She was formerly a member of the Board of Directors for the George Washington Institute for Religious Freedom and is a former member of the Board of Trustees for Roger Williams University.
Katharine Ames Goss, Assistant Director for Media, Communications and Event Planning
Katharine (Kat) Ames Goss is an Assistant Director for Media, Communications and Event Planning for 7Sisters Special Events. Katharine brings experience in media and communications with Bachelor's Degree, and graduating with honors from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Media & Society and English. Katharine was instrumental to the planning and execution of the 2013 US-Arab Leadership Retreat and 2014 Newport Global Summit held in Newport, Rhode Island at the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy.
Katharine is currently a marketing professional with REIS, a real estate research company based in New York City. She was a summer intern at Brookfield Asset Management in 2014, and prior to that during the summer of 2013, an intern with TAG Access Partners, a marketing arm of a boutique investment banking platform as well as event marketing, communications and website development for 7Sisters, LLC. Katharine has lived in Newport, Rhode Island since she was a child and feels a strong connection to its history and to her work in helping to build the foundation for Newport Global Summit.
